Ingredients

1 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. water
2 Tbsp. margarine
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Combine in saucepan, brown sugar, water and
2 tablespoons margarine.
Bring to a boil and cool.
Cream together 2 tablespoons margarine and 1 cup sugar.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
Add dry ingredients with 1 cup milk alternately to the creamed mixture.
Spread in a 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Sprinkle with a few nuts.
Pour brown sugar mix over batter.
Bake for 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Make sure that the pan is high enough as brown sugar mix bubbles up.
Serve with whipped topping.
