Ingredients

1 1/3 c. softened margarine
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1 large bag (12 oz.) chocolate chips or colored chips
1 c. chopped nuts (if desired)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Put margarine, sugar and eggs in mixing bowl.
Beat with electric mixer on medium until smooth.
Add flour, baking soda and vanilla; mix well.
Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if desired).
Dough will be very stiff.
Spoon dough onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes for soft cookies; for 10 to 12 minutes for crisp cookies.
