Buttermilk Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix soda into buttermilk. Cut shortening into remaining dry ingredients. Add milk gradually to form a soft dough. Knead 30 seconds on a lightly floured surface. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 450\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 10 to 12 biscuits.
