Can Can Brown Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. dates, diced
3/4 c. seeded raisins (Muscat)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
2 Tbsp. oleo
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation

Combine dates, raisins and baking soda in 1 cup water and boil. Cream the oleo and sugar. Add vanilla and egg; beat well. Add flour and mix until moistened. Pour in fruit mixture and add nuts.
Place a small amount of oleo in cans and put in oven until melted. Fill cans 2/3 full. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
