Lemon Squares - cooking recipe

1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 stick (1/2 c.) cold, unsalted butter, cut into bits
1/4 c. confectioners sugar, plus additional for sifting over the dessert
2 large eggs
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
Preparation

In a bowl, blend together 1 cup of the flour, the butter and 1/4 cup of the confectioners sugar until the mixture resembles meal.
Pat the mixture into an 8-inch square baking pan and bake it in the middle of a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until it is a pale golden.
