No Peek Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 to 2 lb. beef stew meat
    3 Tbsp. tapioca
    1 slice white or rye bread in small pieces
    3 medium onions, quartered
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    4 to 5 medium potatoes, quartered
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. celery, chopped
    6 carrots, sliced lengthwise
    1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
Preparation
    Put
    all ingredients in a kettle with a tight cover and bake for 5 hours at 275\u00b0.
    Do not open.
