Grandmother Burgess' Refrigerator Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 cakes yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    8 c. bread flour, sifted before measuring
Preparation
    Mix boiling water, 1/2 cup sugar, salt and shortening together. Cool to lukewarm.
    Soften yeast in lukewarm water.
    Add 1 teaspoon sugar and stir into first mixture.
    Add beaten eggs and stir in 4 cups flour.
    Then beat thoroughly, but do not knead.
    If desired, add just enough flour for easy handling when forming into rolls. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Yield:
    3 dozen rolls.
