Apple Pecan Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. flour
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. cooking oil
2 eggs
1 c. pecans, chopped into large pieces
3 c. fresh apples, cut into small chunks, peeled
1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients in large bowl.
Add oil, eggs and vanilla. Mixture will be stiff and sticky.
Mix well.
Add apples and pecans.
Mix well again.
Spread in large oblong pan, 13 x 15 x 2-inches.
Place in a 350\u00b0 oven and bake 30 minutes.
Reduce heat to 300\u00b0 and bake 30 minutes more.
During the last 10 minutes of cooking, prepare the sauce.
