Mama'S Norwegian Wheat Rye Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. rye flour
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1/2 stick butter, softened
Preparation

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in bowl.
Combine milk, egg and butter.
Stir into dry mixture until well combined.
Turn out onto lightly floured board and knead until smooth.
Divide in half.
Lightly press each half into 1/2 inch thick rounds.
Transfer to buttered large baking sheet. Prick lightly with fork.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
Transfer to rack until cool.
