Queen Elizabeth Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. dates, cut small
1 tsp. soda
1 c. boiling water
1/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts
pinch of salt

Preparation

Combine dates and soda.
Pour boiling water over and let cool.
Mix the rest of the ingredients together and add to date mixture.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 - 35 minutes.
