Ingredients

2/3 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 large or 3 small eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
5 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg or mace
Preparation

Cream butter, sugar and eggs until fluffy.
Add vanilla and sour cream, then flour with salt, baking powder, soda and spice. Mix to a smooth soft dough.
Chill thoroughly.
Roll 1/3-inch thick and cut into 3 1/4 to 4-inch rounds.
Arrange on greased cookie sheet.
Sprinkle each cookie with sugar.
Bake at 375\u00b0 until lightly brown.
