Chocolate Snappers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1/4 c. corn syrup
    2 sq. baking chocolate, melted
    1 3/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine sugar, shortening and egg; beat until creamy.
    Stir in corn syrup and melted chocolate.
    Sift together flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt; blend in gradually.
    Shape into balls, using 1 level tablespoon for each cookie.
    Roll balls in sugar.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Let stand a few minutes before removing from sheet.
    Makes 3 dozen 3-inch cookies.
