Skillet Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. pitted chopped dates
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. Rice Krispies
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Melt margarine in heavy black skillet; add dates, sugar and egg. Cook until dates are soft. Remove from heat and let cool slightly; add
    vanilla, Rice Krispies and pecans. Form balls when cool enough to handle and roll in powdered sugar; place on waxed paper to completely cool.
