Cherry-Coconut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter or margarine (1 stick)
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. cherry preserves
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Cut in butter or margarine.
    Beat together the egg, milk and vanilla and add to mixture.
    Spread in 9 x 9-inch greased pan.
    Top with thin layer of cherry preserves.
