Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. milk
    2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
    4 eggs
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. strong coffee
    2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    2 nutmegs
    4 c. flour
    2 lb. raisins
    1 lb. currants
    6 oz. candied pineapple
    6 oz. orange peel
    3 oz. cherries
    9 oz. citron
Preparation
    Cream the shortening until light, adding sugar. Add eggs, beating after each one.
    Add molasses and coffee. Sift flour with spices and 1 teaspoon salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Add fruit and nuts.
    Bake in a large pan at 275\u00b0 for 3 hours. Will keep forever.
