Red Cabbage With Apples - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium onion (chopped)
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 medium head (about 2 lb.) red cabbage (shredded)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. apple cider
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
2 tart cooking apples (peeled and chopped)
2 bacon strips (cooked and crumbled)
Snipped fresh parsley
Preparation

In a large skillet, saute onion in butter until tender but not brown.
Add the cabbage, salt, pepper, brown sugar, cider, vinegar and apples.
Cover and simmer until the cabbage and apples are tender and the liquid is reduced, about 1 hour.
Sprinkle with bacon and parsley.
