Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla or almond extract
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Cream together the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, milk and flavoring; beat well.
Sift together the flour and baking powder.
Add sifted dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
Shape into mound in waxed paper and chill thoroughly.
Roll on lightly floured board until dough is about 1/4-inch thick.
Dip cutter in confectioners sugar each time before cutting cookie, then place cookie on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 8 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes 3 dozen medium-sized cookies.
