Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. white Karo syrup
    2 c. raw peanuts
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Bring water to a boil in a heavy skillet.
    Add sugar and syrup, stirring constantly, until dissolved.
    Boil until it spins a thread from a spoon when lifted from the pan.
    Add peanuts and cook slowly until they turn a golden brown.
    Remove from heat. Add butter, baking soda and vanilla.
    Stir very quickly.
