Ingredients

1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine
1 beaten egg
3 Tbsp. milk
1 egg
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. slivered almonds or chopped walnuts
Preparation

Sift together 2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Set aside.
Mix 1 beaten egg and 3 tablespoons milk.
Add egg mixture to flour mix; stir until moistened (cut in to complete).
Pat evenly into greased 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
Beat 1 egg.
Stir in 3 tablespoons lemon juice.
Add 1/2 cup sugar.
Add nuts.
Remove pan from oven.
Spread with lemon mix.
Return to oven.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool and cut into bars.
