Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
1 c. borido pitted dates, cut up
3/4 c. raisins
2 Tbsp. soft butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/3 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Pour soda and boiling water over dates and raisins.
Set aside.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add vanilla, then egg.
Beat well; add flour and mix.
Pour in fruit mixture (including water) and pecans.
Mix.
Bake in a buttered 9 x 5-inch loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 55 minutes.
