Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
1 c. white Karo syrup
1 c. egg whites, beaten into peaks
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Boil sugar, water and Karo syrup until ball forms from a drop in very cold water.
Ball should be very hard, then pour over egg whites that have been beaten to form peaks.
Beat mixture until it is hard to turn (when candy isn't glossy).
Add vanilla and nuts. Pour onto buttered platter or cookie sheet.
Spread evenly with a knife and chill.
