Asparagus Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 stacks saltine crackers
    1 stick oleo
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 medium can asparagus tips
    3/4 lb. New York sharp cheese
    1 1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Grease shallow casserole dish.
    Layer in this order:
    cracker crumbs, well drained asparagus and mushroom soup.
    Use a teaspoon and just spoon about; do not smooth out and leave in little heaps. Add grated cheese, salt and pepper to taste.
    Place another layer of cracker crumbs and pour milk over all, almost to the top of the dish.
    Sprinkle with almonds, if desired.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until bubbly hot.
