Layered Vegetable Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head sliced lettuce
    1 green pepper
    2 ribs celery, sliced
    1/4 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1 sweet onion, sliced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, thawed
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. basil
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    4 strips bacon, cooked crisp and then broken up
Preparation
    Layer in the following order in a bowl the lettuce, pepper, celery, mushrooms, onions and peas.
    In a separate bowl mix mayonnaise, sugar, garlic powder and basil.
    Spread over the peas, then add the cheese.
    Sprinkle the bacon on top of the cheese. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours.
    Makes 6 servings.
