Ingredients

2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift flour once.
Measure; add baking powder and salt and sift again.
Cream butter thoroughly; add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add vanilla; add flour and blend.
Chill 10 to 15 minutes.
Roll 1/8-inch thick.
Sprinkle with sugar and bake 10 to 12 minutes in hot oven.
Makes 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
