Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 lb. Spanish peanuts (round, with red skins on)
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Boil sugar, water and corn syrup to 242\u00b0, or until syrup spins a 6 to 8-inch thread.
    Add butter and peanuts; cook slowly to 300\u00b0, stirring occasionally.
