One Dish Meal Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. sliced carrots
    2 c. sliced raw potatoes
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    2 c. tomatoes
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. hot water or 1 c. tomato juice
Preparation
    Brown hamburger in butter.
    Place a layer of meat in a 2-quart casserole dish.
    Top with a layer of each vegetable and rice.
    Put rice on top of meat layer.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Pour hot water over all.
    Cover; bake at 325\u00b0 for 2 hours.
    Add more water or juice if needed during baking.
    Yields 6 to 8 servings.
