Texas Chili - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef (lean)
2 Tbsp. margarine or oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 green pepper, chopped
1 can kidney beans (20 oz. size)
2 c. tomatoes (fresh)
8 oz. can seasoned tomato sauce
1 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 bay leaf
dash of paprika
Preparation

Brown meat, onion and green pepper in the meat fat.
Drain off the fat; add beans, tomatoes, sauce, bay leaf and seasonings. Cook below boiling for 1/2 hour.
Tastes better if made the day before and reheated.

6 servings.
Carbohydrate 23 g, protein 19 g, fat 10 g, calories 258.
One serving = 2 meat low-fat exchange, 2 bread starch exchange, 2 fat exchange.
