Low-Fat Whole Wheat Chocolate Chippers - cooking recipe

6 Tbsp. reduced fat margarine
3/4 c. light brown sugar
3 Tbsp. egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chocolate chips
1/3 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation

Combine margarine, brown sugar, egg whites and vanilla extract with electric mixer until smooth.
In a separate bowl combine the flour and baking soda.
Add the flour mixture to margarine mixture and mix well.
Stir the remaining ingredients.
Coat baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto baking sheet, placing them 1 1/2 inches apart.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for about 16 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool cookies on pan for 1 minute.
Then transfer the cookies to wire racks and cool completely.
Store in airtight container.
