Easy Opera Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. maraschino cherries, chopped
    1/2 c. oleo
    2 (3 1/4 or 3 5/8 oz.) pkg. coconut cream pudding mix
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 lb. XXX sugar
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Drain cherries on paper towel.
    In saucepan, melt butter. Stir in dry mix and milk.
    Stir and let come to a boil for one minute.
    Stir constantly and remove from heat.
    Stir in vanilla. Beat in XXX sugar until smooth.
    Stir in cherries and nuts.
    Pour in 10 x 6 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Garnish with walnuts.
    Chill. Yields 32 pieces.
