Milk Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

2 sq. unsweetened chocolate or 6 Tbsp. dry cocoa
1/4 c. milk or 1/2 c. if use dry cocoa
1 c. shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 Tbsp. vanilla
3 egg whites, beaten
3 egg yolks, unbeaten
Preparation

Melt chocolate in 1/2 cup milk; cool.
Cream shortening while slowly adding sugar; beat well.
Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add chocolate.
Sift flour with baking soda and salt.
Add to batter alternately with milk and vanilla.
Fold in egg whites, beaten stiff.
Turn into 2 greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pans.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until done. When cool, spread cakes with plain whipped cream flavored with 1/4 teaspoon vanilla.
Combine into layers.
