Tamale Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 onion, minced
1 garlic clove, minced
1 large pepper, minced
2 Tbsp. fat or oil
1 lb. ground beef
3 1/2 c. tomatoes
1/2 c. chopped ripe olives
few grains salt, pepper and cayenne
1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp. yellow corn meal
1 tsp. chili powder
1 c. yellow corn meal
3 c. boiling water
1/4 lb. ground pork
Preparation

Saute onion, garlic and green pepper in oil.
Add beef and pork; brown lightly.
Add tomatoes, olives, salt, pepper and cayenne.
Cook slowly 1 hour.
Add cheese, yellow corn and chili powder.
Cook until cheese melts, stirring occasionally.
(Should be the consistency of baked hash.)
Gradually add one cup corn meal to water, stirring constantly.
Cook until thickened.
Add one teaspoon salt.
Pour corn meal mixture into greased casserole dish. Add meat mixture.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
