Maw Maw'S Hot Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1 cake yeast
    1 beaten egg
    3 c. flour
Preparation
    Scald milk.
    Add sugar, shortening and salt.
    Stir to blend. Cool until lukewarm.
    Break yeast in cup; add milk to dissolve yeast, then add yeast and beaten egg to milk.
    Add flour gradually; stir until smooth, and then a soft dough.
    Place in a greased bowl; let rise about 1 hour.
    Punch down, then shape into balls.
    Dip in melted butter and place in muffin cups or on a cookie sheet.
    Let rise until double in size.
    Bake 15 minutes at 425\u00b0.
