Caramel Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg yolks, save egg white for meringue
    2 c. sugar, reserve 1/2 c. for browning
    3 1/2 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine sugar, flour and salt.
    Gradually add milk to blend; add egg yolks and remainder of milk.
    Cook over direct heat, stirring constantly.
    Place 1/2 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of margarine in heavy iron skillet.
    Cook simultaneously until sugar melts and turns a golden brown.
    (Be careful not to scorch).
    By the time the sugar is browned the custard should be thickening. Pour browned sugar into custard and stir until blended.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla.
    Pour into baked pie shells.
    Top with meringue and bake at 325\u00b0 until golden brown.
