Fried Vegetable Batter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. cornstarch
    1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. water
    1 egg, slightly beaten
Preparation
    Stir the first 5 ingredients together.
    Pour 1 quart of corn oil in a large skillet to 1/2 inch.
    Don't fill over 1/3 full.
    Dip 4 cups cut up vegetables or chicken (cut small, boneless, skinless), a few at a time, into batter.
    Stir now and then.
    Fry 2 or 3 minutes, turning once.
