Sweet Pickle Spears - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. small cucumbers
    4 c. sugar
    3 3/4 c. white vinegar
    3 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers, trim ends.
    Cut lengthwise.
    Pour boiling water over cucumbers.
    Let stand 2 hours.
    Drain cucumbers.
    Heat ingredients to boiling.
    Pack cucumbers in hot, sterile jars.
    Pour hot liquid into jars until cucumbers are covered.
    Process in boiling water 20 minutes.
