Basic Macaroons - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. coconut
    1 1/3 c. pecans or walnuts
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    2 2/3 c. cornflakes
Preparation
    Beat egg
    whites,
    cream
    of
    tartar
    and vanilla until foamy. Add sugar\tand
    beat
    at
    high speed until stiff peaks form.
    By hand,
    add\tcoconut and nuts.
    Fold in cereal.
    Drop by teaspoons 1-inch
    apart on a greased baking sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15
    to 18\tminutes
    or light brown.
    Yields 92 small cookies or 45 medium cookies.
