Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green tomatoes
    2 c. vinegar
    2 c. sugar or 4 to 5 Tbsp. liquid sweetener
    2 c. hot pepper
    2 c. onions
    1 box pickling spice
Preparation
    Quarter tomatoes.
    Soak about 6 hours in 1/4 cup salt and cover with water.
    Wash and put in vinegar mixture.
    Simmer about 30 minutes.
    Do not overcook.
    Seal in jars.
