Ingredients

2 1/2 c. lukewarm water
2 packs yeast
2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. liquid shortening
6 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Soak yeast in warm water in mixing bowl for 5 minutes.
Add salt, shortening, sugar and 1/2 of the flour.
Beat until smooth. Stir in remaining flour until mixture leaves sides of bowl.
