Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. seedless raisins
    2 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. buttermilk
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. nuts
    2 c. All-Bran
    1 c. 40% bran flakes
Preparation
    Pour the boiling water over the raisins. Add the soda.
    Cool. Cream the shortening and sugar. Add the eggs and buttermilk.
    Fold into the flour, salt, nuts, All-Bran and bran flakes.
    Mix all only until moist. Store in covered bowl in refrigerator until ready to bake at 325\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes in greased muffin tins. Batter will keep in refrigerator up to 6 weeks.
