Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix according to box directions.
    Spread 1/2 batter in 9 x 12-inch pan and bake for 15 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Melt caramels, butter and milk (for top of cake), then pour mixture over baked cake.
    Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel mixture. Spread remaining cake batter on top.
