Bread Pudding - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. stale bread, cubed or chunked
1 qt. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raisins or chopped apples (if desired)
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Soak the bread in the milk until it is very soft, then mash it fine.
Heat together until nearly boiling.
Beat the eggs until light and add to them the sugar, salt and vanilla.
When well mixed, stir this into the bread and milk.
Pour the whole into a baking dish; set in pan of water and bake in a slow oven (250\u00b0 to 350\u00b0).
Bake until knife comes out dry, but not clean.
Top will be brown and crusty looking.
