Scalloped Potatoes - cooking recipe

3 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. milk
6 medium potatoes (6 c.), pared and thinly sliced
2 Tbsp. chopped onion
Preparation

Melt butter in saucepan over low heat.
Blend in flour, salt and pepper; add milk all at once.
Cook quickly, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and bubbles.
Place half the potatoes in a greased 2-quart casserole; cover with half the onion and half the sauce; repeat layers.
Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 about 1 hour, uncover and bake 30 minutes longer.
Serves 4 to 6.
