Savory Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef chuck, cut in 1-inch cubes
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    3 c. water
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 medium potatoes, cut
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1 small bay leaf
    8 small whole onions
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 tsp. salt
    6 carrots, quartered
    1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    In a Dutch oven, combine all ingredients except 1 cup water and the flour.
    Cover and bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 4 hours or until meat is tender.
    Remove from oven.
    In a covered jar, shake 1 cup water and flour until blended; stir in stew.
    Heat to boiling, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
    Serve hot.
    Serves 4 to 6.
