Oatmeal Macaroons - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening, melted
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. coconut
3 1/2 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. fruit flavored gelatin
2 c. hot water
1 c. crushed, drained fruit
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk, well-chilled
Preparation

Dissolve gelatin in hot water; chill until begins to thicken. Beat with a rotary eggbeater until fluffy, gradually beating in milk until a thick, fluffy mixture results.
Fold in fruit.
Any kind of fruit in season may be used, as well as drained, canned fruit.
Pile in sherbet glasses and chill until firm or may be served on slices of plain or sponge cake, or sandwiched between small commercial cookies and chilled.
