Chocolate Icebox Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. sweet chocolate
4 Tbsp. sugar
4 Tbsp. water
5 eggs, separated
4 doz. ladyfingers (plain)
1/2 pt. heavy cream
Preparation

Melt chocolate in double boiler; add sugar and the egg yolks, beaten with the water.
Cook slowly until thick and smooth, stirring constantly.
When cool, fold in the stiffly beaten whites.
Line the bottom and sides of a spring-form with split ladyfingers.
Trim, if necessary, to fit and arrange rounded side toward pan.
Add a layer of filling; cover with ladyfingers and repeat to fill mold.
Chill overnight.
When ready to serve, remove sides of form and place on serving platter.
Top with whipped cream.
