Granny'S Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    3 to 4 c. flour (enough to make soft dough)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg, milk, dry ingredients and vanilla.
    Blend together.
    Roll on floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness.
    Cut and place on greased baking sheet.
    Bake 15 minutes in a 375\u00b0 oven.
