Lime Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. lime
    2 1/2 gal. water
    7 1/2 lb. cucumbers, sliced
    2 1/2 qt. vinegar
    1 tsp. celery seed
    4 1/2 lb. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. pickling spice
    1 tsp. whole cloves
Preparation
    Stir lime and water until lime is dissolved.
    Pour over cucumbers.
    Soak for 24 hours.
    Drain and wash several times until clear, then cover with ice water for 3 hours.
    Drain.
    Make syrup.
