Hash Browns - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    potatoes
    1 to 2 Tbsp. grated onion
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1/3 c. butter or meat drippings
Preparation
    Chill cooked in jacket potatoes, peel and shred to make 4 cups.
    Add onion, salt and pepper.
    Melt butter or drippings in 10-inch skillet.
    Pat potatoes into pan, leaving 1/2-inch space around edges.
    Brown 10 to 12 minutes on each side until golden brown.
