Seven Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 green pepper, diced
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 (16 oz.) can peas, drained
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/2 c. crisp bacon bits
Preparation
    Prepare salad in large bowl.
    Add ingredients, one at a time as given, each in a separate layer.
    Do not toss.
    Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
    Will keep one or two days.
