Almond Butter Crunch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or oleo
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 c. coarsely chopped almonds
    17 oz. milk chocolate bars, melted
    1 c. finely chopped almonds
Preparation
    In large saucepan, melt butter quickly. Add sugar, corn syrup and water. Cook, stirring occasionally to hard-crack stage (300\u00b0). Watch carefully after 280\u00b0. Quickly stir in coarsely chopped nuts. Line a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan with foil. Spread candy into ungreased pan. Cool thoroughly. Turn out on waxed paper; spread with half the chocolate. Sprinkle with half the finely chopped nuts. Cover with waxed paper; invert. Spread with remaining chocolate; sprinkle with remaining nuts. If necessary, chill to firm. Break into pieces.
